Beach volleyball is one of the best ways of improving a player's overall volleyball skills. It is played in the sand, so it forces you to be a more aggressive and balanced player.
Find out more about beach volleyball! Work on your volleyball skills in the sand, which creates drag and increases your vertical jump and cardio work.
Sessions take place in April and May each year. 2019 sessions are completed. We’ll provide details on next year’s clinics as soon as we can.
About our Beach Club league
Beach volleyball is played with only two players per team, so each player gets many more touches than in indoor volleyball. There is also a better player-to-coach ratio and the ability to work on all skills. An added benefit is that OVR doesn’t charge an additional membership fee for current club players, so the cost of playing are lower than indoor. (An additional OVR registration fee does apply to those who are not currently on a club team in our region.) A player from an indoor club other than Eastside is eligible to play beach for Eastside, since beach volleyball is considered a different sport by OVR.
Our beach volleyball season begins in June. There are a limited number of teams due to court time available for practice.
There are usually around 10 tournaments scheduled throughout the summer. You can register for as many or as few as you would like based on your summer schedules. We will gladly help you register, but we cannot register for you.
Practices are held at the following two locations:
Eastside Athletics • 11435 Lithopolis Rd., Lithopolis
Mondays & Wednesdays, 6:00-7:30pm
The Homestead • 2568 Carroll Eastern Rd NE, Pleasantville
Tuesdays & Thursdays, 5:30-7:00pm
$200 includes 16 practice sessions with an instructor and an Eastside Beach Volleyball t-shirt.
Pricing does not include:
Tournament Registration & Fees. Players register for their own tournaments based on their personal schedules.
Reason: Different teams will want to play in different tournaments and be able to schedule around summer vacations, etc. This gives the team the flexibility to play as many tournaments as they want or as their schedule will allow.
Coaching at Tournaments
Reason: While a coach is allowed to attend the tournament as a spectator OVR doesn't allow the coach to coach while a game is being played. Coaches will be at many of the events, but no guarantees as to which ones the coaches will attend. Also, getting a coach to every event is very difficult to manage because many of the tournaments put the teams at different locations based on age.
